SEPTEMBER MEETING OF THE BURRUM CHAMBER

MINUTES REPLACED WITH THE FOLLOWING

The date was set for the last meeting of the Burrum Chamber of Commerce for Sept 2009 but was cancelled as there were health issues with our president Bill and he was out of action.

He is now well on the way to recovery and we are glad of that.

Our secretary Rhonda and vice president were also not available because of pre commitments on that date. All is now back on track for our annual AGM on Oct 5^th 2009.

WE TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO HIGHLIGHT SOME POINTS ABOUT THE BURRUM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

1…The Burrum Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first meeting of the newly formed Fraser Coast Chamber of Commerce @ a date fixed in October to replace the Wide Bay Chamber of Commerce. This new entity represents all of the 4 existing local chambers of commerce, Tiaro-Hervey Bay-Maryborough-Burrum District and is only open to executives attending from each of the chambers. Each of the chambers will co-exist in their own right in addition to having a united voice for regional development.

A stronger business representation for the entire Fraser Coast Region is the outcome.

2…The Burrum Chamber was represented @ the latest meeting of the Fraser Coast GREET tourism and job creation programme by publicity officer Henry Sapiecha due to the absence of our president due to his ill health

3…New members are encouraged to join the chamber

@ $60 per annum.

The benefits are great, with free advertising and promotions for each of the members as well as networking with other chambers, councilors, newspapers, fellow members and community leaders and citizens. Come to a meeting as our invited guest @ no charge.

4…Mail outs via emails are regular as are web site postings of events, notices, announcements, meeting minutes, interesting business & community articles and invitations etc from our chamber and affiliates. View here www.burrumcc.org.au

5…Existing members are reminded that yearly subscription fees are now due
