Ministerial delegation brings results

A delegation led by Mayor Mick Kruger lobbying support for our region has received a positive response from state leaders and resulted in a meeting with Invest Queensland.

Seeking financial assistance and backing for major mining, marine and engineering projects that would generate employment and investment in our region, the local delegates met with Deputy Premier Paul Lucas, Treasurer Andrew Fraser and other ministers who reacted positively to the region’s initiatives.

WYNDHAM RESORTS TO BUILD $120M COMPLEX IN HERVEY BAY FRASER COAST QUEENSLAND

$120m of luxury to lure investment
The $120 million Wyndham Hervey Bay Resort will bolster the region’s tourism industry and attract further investment to the region.
The resort, to be built opposite the Urangan Boat Harbour, will comprise 162 luxury apartments and penthouses and full conference facilities for 300 guests. 

It will also feature a lagoon pool, a café/restaurant catering for indoor or alfresco dining, a gym, internet café and underground car park.

Stage 1 construction is scheduled to start in August and is expected to be completed by April 2013.

FREE MONEY GRANTS FROM FRASER COAST COUNCIL TO DECORATE YOUR BUSINESS PREMISES

Great look, easy access streetscapes
Council is partnering with business owners within the CBDs and shopping centres in an excitingproject to enhance the appearance of buildings and facades and improve access to premises. Under the Fraser Coast Streetscape Scheme, small businesses which employ fewer than 20 people can apply for grants up to $1500; and $2500 if the property is listed on Council’s Local Heritage Register.
